You know what would be nice? A truly unbiased news report. A news report that tells me exactly what happened without speculation as to why. A news report that does not have an underlying political agenda. A news report that sticks to the facts and only the facts.
Wouldn’t it be nice to hear a news report first hand by someone who was there, over one reporting what someone else reported? To calmly hear reports that are not overemphasized to boost ratings. No mention of celebrities unless they died. A balanced report that states all the facts all the time. Did I need to know the driver was NOT wearing his seat belt? Would you tell me if he had? I long for a news report that doesn’t care or comment on my safety or infer how I should live or believe. I don’t care about anyone’s sexual promiscuity or preference unless they have broken a law or committed a crime worth reporting on. It shouldn’t matter if the culprit is black or white unless authorities are currently seeking help finding him. Does it matter that the person who died at age 90 was a smoker? How about a news report without lively chit chat between the anchors? How about a newspaper that prints all the news and puts ads in the remaining space instead of vice-versa? In the time the reporter tells you that details are coming up “after this”, they could have told you what happened, and why is it the story they “tease” is always the last of the show?
Luckily in today’s world we do have the internet, and with enough clicking I’m sure you can find the news report that has a slant you approve of. Sadly, it’s still a slant.
