I have nothing against social networking sites, they have their purpose: for friends to share information, networking etc.. However, I don’t believe there is a place for these sites on the news. Lately it seems that the news presenter will give you a short headline, then start taking comments generated from sources like Twitter and Facebook. Frankly, I don’t tune in to the news to hear the opinion of John or Jane Doe from hometown U.S.A. If I did, it would be as easy as becoming a fan of that news channel on their social network page.
